Our Summer Work Camp

We have tentative plans for our Work Camp this summer.  What we need is volunteers.

If you are interested and can help, please sign the list on the bulletin board in the back.  We need workers – teens, adults, seniors – anyone who can swing a brush.

Last year we had a 12 year old girl come from Pennsylvania. She loved it. She is from a family of – soon to be 10!  There’s mom & dad and 8 kids.  They live in a house that is need (serious) need of painting.  Tentative plans are to take a special group there and paint their house. Mom writes: I cannot tell you what a blessing it would be to have the house painted. We would be sooo appreciative, and thankful.  The house has a couple special needs that we will try and correct as well.  This would be a great project and show our appreciation for Jimmy & Natalie bringing a crew to work with us last year.  I will be checking out the house next weekend and weighing the possibility of us helping.

The Elderkin’s have recommended to us a house of Caleb’s friend in Sparta.  Tyler, Caleb’s friend, has visited with us a few times.  The house is a house that needs painting and they have expressed to us how much it would be appreciated if we could help. When we started this project we reached out to strangers.  It would be great if we could reach out to special friends of SouthSide as we continue the program.

BUT, we do need your help.  If you are willing and able to help – please sign the lists on the bulletin board.  Time is important to making decisions as to if and how we can help.  It is a rewarding and satisfying feeling!
