Do you realize how much of an effect you have on the people around you? We are constantly shaping the lives of others with our actions and with our inaction. We shape the ones we love with our words and lack thereof. The Hebrew writer directs our attention to our personal Christian relationships. We read in Hebrews 10:24 – “and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds.” We have a Christian responsibility to stimulate (to provoke, to stir up, to motivate) the brethren. But not merely stimulation for stimulation sake. Our words and deeds should motivate the elect to love and good deeds. The tough question we must ask ourselves is this: How can we stimulate, how can we motivate, the saved to love and good deeds if we are severely lacking love and good deeds in our own Christian walk?
